National Art & Design Saturday Club

National Art & Design Saturday Club ceramics workshop

During 2017, Falmouth University will continue to deliver its popular National Art & Design Saturday Club - a programme of Saturday art classes for local young people aged 13 to 18. The club is free to attend for students who live in Cornwall and will include a wide variety of art, design and media disciplines.

Sessions will be delivered by Falmouth University's expert teaching staff, with the assistance of our experienced and talented undergraduate student ambassadors. The club will take place at both Falmouth and Penryn campuses, utilising the University's state-of-the-art facilities.

The club will conclude with an exhibition of participants' work at Somerset House, London, in Summer 2017. All participants receive a certificate of participation from The Sorrell Foundation.

The club lasts for the duration of the summer term, with sessions running on Saturdays 10.00-15.00, in term-time only.

The National Art & Design Saturday Club is part of a national initiative set up by The Sorrell Foundation, a charitable organisation dedicated to inspiring creativity in young people and providing them with pathways into further and higher education. Now in its sixth year, the programme is delivered by over 40 universities and colleges across the UK. Find out more at saturday-club.org

The Art & Design Saturday Club has been running at Falmouth since 2012. It is an excellent opportunity for young people to experience life at their local higher education institution and take their interest in the creative industries further. If you are aged 13-18 and are interested in art and design and the wider creative industries we strongly encourage you to apply.
