Students Report from Cornish Literature Festival

Writing students have been honing their skills at the 2017 Penzance Literary Festival.

Students from English and Creative Writing courses volunteered at the festival, which took place from 5 to 8 July; interviewing writers, blogging, and producing press releases. They also saw one of their own, Gee Middleton, a graduating third year student named as one of five emerging talents highlighted in the Festival's Five Young Poets event.

Danielle Barrios-O'Neill, Senior Lecturer in English & Publishing, said: "This provided a great opportunity for our students to be involved in the behind-the-scenes workings of a literary festival. As well as producing promotional material the students managed to get the festival coverage in several local media outlets."
