Student Win at Packaging Designer of the Year Awards

Sustainable Product Design student Jayden Newman has won the Opening, Closing and Resealing category at the Student Packaging Designer of the Year Awards 2017.

Second year student Jayden's redesign of a small Dr Oetker natural extract bottle was awarded for its attention to detail, innovation and inclusivity of design. His sustainable, conceptual re-design of the bottle focused on improving usability for people with low dexterity.

Drummond Masterton, Head of Sustainable Product Design, said: "This is a great achievement for Jayden. His project demonstrated how innovative human centred design can make a real difference to living independently for people with reduced dexterity."

The Student Packaging Designer of the Year Awards are run by Watch Me Think and aim to reward the best and brightest packaging innovators for the consumer packaged goods industry.
