Canon to Take Lucky Students to International Photo Festival
Four Press & Editorial Photography students have been selected to attend the International Festival of Photojournalism - Visa pour L'image - in Perpignan, France from 4 to 9 September.
Amy Griffin, Louis Bamford, Maisie Marshall and Alice Garrett-Jones will attend the event with Canon, who are the festival's principle sponsor. The students will take part in guided tours of exhibitions, practical workshops, evening screenings and networking opportunities. They'll also have the opportunity to have their portfolios reviewed by representatives of Magnum. From this, a select few will be lucky enough to be chosen to work with Canon on a new Student Ambassador program from next year.
Gretchen Viehmann, Head of Press & Editorial Photography, said: "Perpignan is perhaps the most significant annual event for photojournalists who are covering the stories affecting our lives globally, a chance to celebrate the power of photography. It's an incredible honour and fantastic opportunity to have our students invited to this event."
Visa pour l'Image, is the world's premier International Festival of Photojournalism held annually in the Catalan city of Perpignan, France and attracting the most important photojournalists and editors from around the world in a celebration of photographic storytelling.
