Falmouth University offers all staff a minimum of 28 days annual leave each year in addition to 8 days bank holidays and paid closure days over the Christmas period.
Professional Services staff automatically join the Falmouth Pension Scheme, a generous defined contribution scheme. The Woodlane Nursery in Falmouth provides students and staff with high quality childcare and education for children aged 1 to 8 years. The nursery is purpose-built with separate areas for younger and older children and has an enclosed, safe and pleasant garden area.
The nursery also operates an after school club and holiday club. The nursery is very popular and can have a long waiting list, so you are advised to make early enquiries.
Wellbeing and support
The University offers staff access to free and confidential counselling and support through Relate. The service offers help to staff that may be experiencing difficult and stressful problems whether in their personal or professional lives.
The Multifaith Chaplaincy is available for pastoral and spiritual care for staff as well as students. There is one full-time multifaith chaplain and a team of friendly volunteers who are ambassadors for various churches and faith communities. They have close connections with the Cornwall Faith Forum who help us to link students and staff with smaller faith communities that have a less visible presence on campus.
The Penryn Campus Sports Centre provides opportunities for students, staff and the wider community, of all levels and ability, to participate in sport and physical activity. The newly-extended sports centre offers the latest fitness equipment, a free-weights area, a fitness studio and a variety of regular exercise classes.
Discounted membership rates are offered to all staff.
There are two libraries, one on each campus, providing resources relating to the subjects taught and researched on each site. IT facilities are available and library services are open to all staff and students.
