Location: Penryn Campus
The following information is intended for applicants who have already been invited to an interview, to help them prepare. Please note it may change from year to year.
We invite all applicants who show potential to an interview. Interviews are two-way: they give you the opportunity to show your creative skills and interview us; and they help us to assess further your potential to succeed in your chosen subject. If you are based outside the UK/EU, and are unable to come to Falmouth, you'll be interviewed online or by telephone.
We'll use the Applicant Portal to invite you to an interview:
- Log in to the Falmouth Applicant Portal
If, in order to attend an in-person on campus interview, you have any individual requirements due to a long-term health condition, specific learning difficulty or disability, please contact the Accessibility Service as soon as possible:
- Tel: 01326 370460 (text/telephone)
- Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
This will enable us to discuss and put in place any support or adjustments you may require, for example, hearing induction loop, BSL interpreter, adjusted interview time/length, ground floor interview room or information in a different format.

We invite up to 12 applicants to each interview session.
You will be interviewed in a small group with no more than five other applicants, with your portfolios and sketchbooks, by a panel usually consisting of two academic members of staff and two students. You will spend five minutes individually with each panel member and then move on to the next. Following your interview, you will have a departmental tour where you will have the chance to ask any questions and speak to current students.
You can expect to be here for about 3 hours.
Skype/telephone interviews only
You will be interviewed by a member of the academic staff who will have access to your online portfolio as well as your UCAS form and personal statement. The interview will be conversational and questions will be asked in response to your personal statement and online portfolio. The interview will last for around 15 minutes after which you will have the opportunity to ask us questions about studying on the course.
5. How can I prepare for my interview?
Please begin by preparing your portfolio. Your portfolio should contain a minimum of 30 images. Please select your images carefully. The criteria and evidence listed under ‘What are you looking for in a successful applicant?’ will help you to decide what to include in your portfolio.
We would also like you to think about your responses to questions such as:

- What activities do you like to take part in/watch/follow?
- What attracts you to want to study Sportswear Design at Falmouth?
