Falmouth Takes Gold

Falmouth has been ranked gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework, the new classification of degree teaching standards.

Only 43 universities were rated gold, out of 134. And, of the 332 Higher Education providers that participated, Falmouth University came 9th overall, based on the key metrics.

Gold awards are reserved for institutions where teaching, retention and graduate outcomes are consistently outstanding and are of highest quality found in the UK.

Falmouth Sixth in the UK for Student Satisfaction

Falmouth has been ranked sixth in the UK in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey.

The survey, out today, looks at the best universities for student experience, ranking them on 21 key areas based on answers from students across the UK.

Falmouth has climbed five places from last year and is now ranked number one in the South West.

Funding for Cornwall Applicants

We are offering bursaries of over £5,000 to undergraduate applicants who live in Cornwall - a bigger cash bursary than any other university in the south west.

If you are eligible for our Cornwall Award and Materials Award, you will be awarded up to £5,100 to help towards equipment, internships and the funding of end-of-year shows.

The Cornwall Award is available to UK students who have a Cornish address at the point of application for courses starting in September 2017. To qualify applicants need to fall under at least one of the following:

Poet Alice Oswald Announced as Writer in Residence

We are delighted to announce that acclaimed poet, Alice Oswald, will be joining the School of Writing & Journalism as Writer in Residence from October 2017.

During the residency she will deliver writing workshops and individual tutorials to students, as well as a talk in February 2018, which will be open to the public.
