Xan Brooks is a renowned film critic, journalist and author of acclaimed debut novel 'The Clocks in This House all Tell Different Times. He is currently our Writer in Residence.
In this public lecture Xan will consider the responsibility of a writer when telling the story of a person, place or history, of which they have no first-hand experience. Is the current debate a necessary corrective, or does it risk stifling creative freedom and blunting the essential point of fiction writing?
The lecture will be followed by an informal reception in the Lighthouse with a chance to chat to Xan.
