‘What kind of a musical is this?!’
Tremough Follies are proud to present Urinetown (Yoor’in toun).
Yes, that really is the name of the show. Urinetown is a three-time Tony Award-winning satirical musical comedy that premiered in 2001 and has since received 5-star reviews at London’s Apollo Theatre.
If you’ve ever been caught changeless at a public loo then this show is for you.
America, the not too distant future. A 20-year drought has led to a terrible water shortage nationwide, with a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amongst the throngs, a hero plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
With music performed by a live orchestra, this is an irreverently humorous satire where no-one is safe. Modern, outrageous and totally wicked – be prepared to laugh until your bladder bursts!
