With various comparisons to ‘early Rolling Stones’, new Cornwall/London rockers, The Velvet Hands (Toby Mitchell, Dan Able, Sam Hilder and Louis Mitchell) are described as ‘a wonderful mess, a soundtrack for demolition’. They encompass elements of The Strokes, The Stones and the Clash in their garage rock ‘n’ roll story telling.
The band has recently supported Paul Weller at Wyldes in Cornwall and Liam Gallagher and Fontaines DC at The Eden Project, with headline slots for This Feeling on their stages at The Isle of Wight Festival. The Velvet Hands released their new single, ‘Don’t Be Nice To Me’ in June 2019, the first single from their highly anticipated second album and first release since the band’s debut album Party’s Over’ last year which was named Huw Stephens BBCR1 Album of The Week. The band have also received radio support from BBC6 Music, Radio 1, Radio X, Amazing Radio and more.
