AMATA's talk series is a great opportunity to meet some of the artists that we will be working with over the forthcoming year. Find out about their current projects, inspiration and practice and ask questions in a live Q&A session.
Dance maker and performer Amy and visual artist and performer Hetain collaborated on Amy's awarding winning dance piece The Forecast. With the world a different place since they worked on it together and as Amy prepares to tour it again, Amy and Hetain reflect on being an artist now and what drew them together in the first place - their approaches to the way race, gender and sexuality are inscribed or rewritten in the body. The Forecast casts ironic look at our attempts to foresee our futures, an idea that resonates with new power now in a time of such unpredictability. Amy and Hetain share their questions about what comes next.
Tickets are free, however booking is required.

Amy Bell (she/her/they/them) is a London based dance artist and producer whose work is borne of binary busting fervour. Amy aims to explode 'them-and-us' thinking around embodiment, queerness, marginalisation and relationships between audiences, artists and institutions. Politically rigorous whilst uniquely accessible, their work offers nuance, warmth and humour to celebrate particularity and create connection.
Hetain Patel (he/him) is a London based visual artist and performance maker whose work has been shown worldwide. His work exploring identity and freedom, using humour, choreography and text appears in multiple formats and media, intended to reach the widest possible audience.
