David Shrigley talks about his work as part of the Falmouth School of Art Guest Speakers series.
David Shrigley is a Brighton-based artist best known for his drawings, which typically illustrate life and human interactions using deadpan, often dark, humour. He also works in a range of other media including animation, installation, sculpture, music and photography.
Shrigley has exhibited and published widely; most recently with solo exhibitions in 2018 in the UK, China, Greece and Sweden. In the same year he was appointed Guest Director of the Brighton Festival. Shrigley's work Really Good, was chosen for The Fourth Plinth, Trafalgar Square, 2016-18 and he was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2013.
