Movement and sound collide in space.
Movement that is heard, felt and sensed in the body. Sound constantly shaping and reshaping the room. By tuning into the simple idea of the acoustic wave, The Amplitude reveals the relationship between sound and movement and remixes their channels of perception. With its entire soundscape created live on stage, directly from the amplified and recorded movement of the performer, The Amplitude aims to create resonance with its audience by offering a highly immersive experience of sound in movement.
Part dance performance, part witty physics lecture, and part live electronic music concert, The Amplitude is the first collaboration of choreographer and performer Gabriele Reuter and musician and sound technician Mattef Kuhlmey.
'Showing an honest and thoughtful approach to her work, Reuter manages to draw in even the most diverse range of audience members. A must see artist with an original and thought-provoking approach to choreography.'
Fiona Jackson on Reuter's Inventory – Arts Award Magazine
'Through their creative partnership, Reuter and Kuhlmey have created something really special, and definitely something different.' Alex Hackitt-Anwyl on The Amplitude – Culturised Blog
