Young people between 13 and 19 years old are being offered an amazing opportunity to devise collaborative theatre and attend top class workshops in spectacular surroundings. The Cornish Youth Theatre Festival will bring young people together from from across the county and beyond. Produced by ISTA (International School’s Theatre Association) in association with Falmouth University.
The festival will follow ISTA’s hugely successful festival model which has operated around the world for 30 years. Theatre skills, specialist workshops, collaborative working, ensemble building, devising from a starting point and working towards a final performance are just some of the hallmarks of an ISTA event. Led by several of ISTA’s most internationally renowned theatre practitioners, young people will create inspirational work and learn from each other in ensembles.
"ISTA was a truly fantastic experience. I met so many wonderfully creative people and got to develop and experiment with skills I had no previous experience of. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the performing arts and I would definitely do it again." 2016 participant.
During the final sharing time it appeared to me that I was witnessing the result of three days off collective trust, creative cooperation, and the result of this newly formed group's individual ability to listen to each other - it goes without saying that it definitely looked like they had some fun too!

ISTA is a not for profit registered charity and as such always seek to keep costs to an absolute minimum. For the hugely subsisdised price of just £149 per participant, this unique festival is set to be the must attend event of the year for all young people with a love of theatre. No auditions and no lead roles. Every participant will have an equal stake in the process and performance. Please note we will not be able to refund fees should you need to cancel after payment. This is because we book artists and their flights several months in advance. There may be the possibility of funding to help towards the fees for some students.
