Research is integral to life at Falmouth. A world leader in the fields of performance, music, digital technology and sustainability, we enjoy international recognition for our work, both within and beyond academia.

Our annual research income has doubled over the past four years, with the total value of live research standing at £3m. We offer an active interdisciplinary research community, which spans the entire University.

Our research portfolio is committed to the exploration and solution of society's grand challenges. Although rapidly expanding, we have a particular strategic focus on Digital Economy/ Digital Games, Smart Design & Creative Connected Communities.

Much of our research involves collaboration with other academic and industry partners in science, social care, technology and business – in the UK and beyond.

We are a founding member of the prestigious Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training, and have a vibrant community of 60 research students.

With a burgeoning portfolio, we welcome funding from a range of sources including, among others, the European Commission, AHRC, BT and Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA).
