Keeping Creative, Connected & Courageous

We're here for you

Our professional services, support and academic staff are here to offer help and advice on any aspect of university life. We can support you in person, online or by telephone. So whether you're a current student, a future student or an applicant, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We're in this together.

Below you can find information about the different student support services available that endeavour to help keep our people creative, connected and courageous.

The Compass

The Compass is the first port of call for enquiries about Student Services. The Compass team is adopting social distancing measures, however you can still visit our friendly team on campus or get in touch via email or on the phone.

Time to Talk service

We know that university, like other times in life, can sometimes be challenging. Our Time to Talk service is for students who would value a safe space to talk to a member of staff about their worries and concerns.

Sessions are available online from Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm during term-time.

The multifaith chaplaincy

Learning skills and support

Our Accessibility and Inclusive Learning teams advise and support students with disabilities, health conditions and specific learning differences, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD.

If English isn't your first language, you can sign up for academic English workshops, social English classes and tutorials. The majority of our sessions are online right now, however if you'd like to meet in person then we can make arrangements for a socially distanced meeting.

Library and archive services

Our Library and archive service will be open this September, so you can make the most of our special collection of digital resources, magazines, journals and materials.

We're introducing new measures so we can keep our students and staff safe. New measures include one way routes through the shelves, bookable study spaces and book quarantines. You can also get in touch with our Library and archive team via live chat or by booking an online meeting.
