A Total Eclipse at EGX

It's not even a year old and already our Alacrity programme is making the headlines. Four talented Alacrity Falmouth students recently fought off the competition to showcase their game, Eclipse, on the Epic Games Unreal Engine 4 stand at the UK's biggest video gaming event, EGX.

The game was one of eight chosen for the event at Earls Court, following a fiercely fought submissions process. The students and Nick Dixon, Alacrity Falmouth Programme Director, drew in the public and key industry figures to try and test their game. It was designed and built in an Alacrity Falmouth two day 'shadow' themed game jam and focuses on intense cat and mouse multiplayer gameplay, whilst using the powerful graphics and capabilities of UE4.

"Considering many of these developers have only been working with UE4 for a few months, the results are sensational," said Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager, Epic Games. "The quality of the talent is genuinely impressive."

Big congratulations to the impressive team: Nathan Egner, James Baxter, Owen Bickmore and Renn Farnell. Just one example of the many exciting projects on the go here at Falmouth!
