Falmouth is offering bursaries of up to £3,000 to applicants who live in Cornwall to help towards equipment, internships and the funding of end-of-year shows.
The Cornwall Award is available to UK students who have a Cornish address at the point of application for courses starting in September 2016. To qualify for the Award applicants need to fall under at least one of the following:
- Assessed by Student Finance as having a household income of under £25,000pa
- Eligible for Disabled Student Allowance (DSA)
- Have a home address from an 'under-represented' area of Cornwall. These are specific postcode areas which historically have had low numbers of residents enter higher education. A full list of qualifying postcodes is available on our website at falmouth.ac.uk/funding
Recipients of a Cornwall Award can also qualify for a Materials Award. Students who are assessed by Student Finance as having a household income of under £25,000pa will automatically receive a Materials Award, which varies in size dependent upon your area of study.
Alex Hunt, from Saltash who graduated in Film this summer, said: "I loved my time on the course and would recommend it to anyone thinking of studying film, Falmouth offered so much more than some of the other options."
Marine & Natural History Photography graduate Jack Matthews, from Launceston, said: "There are so many reasons why I picked Falmouth University – the location, the facilities, the course – it's been the best three years of my life."
