Two awards were presented at the Marine & Natural History Photography Summer Show on Friday night.

The 2017 winners were announced to a packed house of invited guests, family and friends at the Show's opening night.

Ellie Bearcroft was announced winner of the Julia Cooper Memorial Award. Now in its fourth year, the award was judged by Andrew and Jeanne Cooper and is in memory of their daughter Julia, wildlife expert and broadcaster, who passed away in 2011. Ellie was praised for her highly professional film Seal Shorts. There was also a special mention for Max Thompson's British Habitats project as the runner up.

Rosie Dutton took the honours for the Student Engagement Award, which celebrates enthusiasm, dedication and determination. The award was again sponsored and presented this year by Martin Nixon of Nixon Design.
