Jill Weeks
Senior Technician
Jill Weeks is the senior technician for garment construction on the Performance Sportswear Design course. She has over 30 years' experience as an industry specialist in stretch construction, pattern cutting and freelance technical consultancy.
Jill entered the industry working for Heathcoats in sportswear research and development. She later founded and ran the fashion and performance sports company Poldark Designerwear, a dance, gymnastic and swimwear label, as well as a manufacturing unit for many high street names, sports brands and top end designers. She has also worked as a freelance consultant on many design teams, working from initial design concept and successfully bringing the product to the marketplace, advising on production costings and garment specification.
After selling the business in 2004 Jill headed up an FE vocational industry-delivered program for Cornwall College before moving into HE. Her objective is to give students a solid technical grounding in the key skills, professional practice and knowledge required for entering industry.

Intuitive Resources - research to aid students with learning challenges and to inspire students to interact using mobile SMART technology. The concept idea was a 'One Stop Resource' for students and staff to access all the technical data for a piece of equipment and process.
