Music, Theatre & Entertainment Management student Lisa Frawley is gaining industry experience in the performance world thanks to an internship with Cheap Date Dance Company, who are made up of graduates Grace Clayton, Debbie Mason and Lauren Shuker.
The opportunity has enabled Lisa, who is in her second year of studies, to expand her skills: "Working with Cheap Date has been amazing and has really helped me gain experience in the industry such as writing press releases, stage management and visiting a range of venues with the company. I can't thank Cheap Date enough for this opportunity."
Grace Clayton of Cheap Date said: "Having Lisa as part of the team has been really wonderful for us. She is so confident and pro–active and an absolute asset to the company. All of the collaborators we have worked with on this show have been graduates whether photographers, film-makers or sound designers, so it's great we can continue to grow and collaborate with more artists and practitioners emerging from Falmouth."
Adrian Bossey, Head of Subject, said: "Lisa is benefitting from a fantastic opportunity to develop her professional practice by working with Falmouth graduates from AMATA."
Cheap Date Dance are touring their new show - Little Women, Big Balls - this spring at venues in Cornwall including our Academy of Music and Theatre Arts as well as the Swedish National Showcase in February and touring the UK and Europe in the Autumn.
