Andy Hague

Trumpeter, composer, educator and jazz impresario, Andy Hague has been directing jazz summer schools and big bands around the South West for the past eight years. As a trumpeter, he leads his own quintet, big band and salsa group, Conjunto Gringo, and has released three CDs. The quintet has undertaken several national tours and Andy's various groups have appeared at jazz festivals in Edinburgh, Brecon, Swanage, Marlborough and Teignmouth.

Andy has appeared as a session player on numerous recordings, most notably the first two Portishead albums and their Live in New York DVD, and has played on various film and TV scores, including 'The Big Swap' (by Niall Johnson, who went on to make 'White Noise'), and 'A Good Woman' (starring Helen Hunt and Scarlett Johannson). He has received composition commissions from Bristol Brass Consort, South West Jazz and Jazz at the Albert.
