A music and dance summer school with choreographer Grace Clayton (Me, But Bigger; Cheap Date Dance) and composer Patrick Bailey (Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra).

The dancers and musicians will explore composition, technique, improvisation, choreography and a variety of skills involved in creating dance and music collaboratively. The five days will give students the opportunity to work with specialist tutors concluding with a public performance of the work on the Friday evening.

This unique summer programme will give young people an insight into the wonderful world of collaborative practice within the arts as well as develop their own creativity and technical skills.

Entry requirements

Musicians - Any instrument welcome with grade 4 minimum required for entry.
Age 14 - 18 yrs

Dancers - Contemporary dance or improvisation experience expected.
Age 8 - 18 yrs

Summer school timetable

The summer school will run from 10:00 till 16:30 each day and a full schedule will be emailed upon confirmation of a place. 

Facilities

The summer school will take place in Falmouth's state-of-the-art Academy of Music and Theatre Arts - a vibrant £19 million arts centre. Facilities include:

  • 15 performance spaces
  • Individual and band practice rooms
  • Café
