Placements and work experience
Placements are integral to most of our courses and stepping up to the experience of life in the workplace will help you to grow your expertise and confidence, as well as develop your employability skills in a real-world environment.
Our well-connected staff and the employability team are here to help you get great work placements. We work with you through your course, individual appointments, and seminars. A team of careers consultants can assist you in planning your career, practice job interviews, CV writing, portfolios and more.

Postgraduate Placements Cornwall
Postgraduate Placements Cornwall gives eligible postgraduate students paid work placements with businesses in Cornwall.
Students on the scheme receive a minimum of £1,350 for the duration of the work placement, which can be organised to fit around your studies.

Two agencies housed within Falmouth's courses offer students real industry work on briefs for local, national and international clients.
- The Agency is located within the BA(Hons) Illustration studio and uses the talent of staff and students to meet the illustrative needs of local, national and international businesses. For more information visit The Agency website
- Cartel Photos is an agency run by students and alumni from the BA(Hons) Press & Editorial Photography course. Cartel Photos delivers images covering everything from local news stories, events and PR shoots to editorial and reportage content. For more information visit the Cartel Photos website

Our Visiting Professors Lecture Series brings international speakers of the highest calibre to Falmouth to share their ideas and insights with students, staff and the wider public. Visiting professors include Michael Grandage the award-winning artistic director of the Michael Grandage Company and formerly the Donmar Warehouse, Turner Prize-shortlisted artist Cornelia Parker, celebrated poet Simon Armitage, and writer Deborah Levy. All the lectures are free and open to the public.
From short courses to full qualifications, our software trainers are here to give you the skills businesses expect. Falmouth offers a wide range of IT training courses and learning resources, as well as qualifications including Microsoft (MOS) and Adobe Certified Associate (ACA).
