Advanced Learning Loans

Applicable to the foundation diploma

Summary

The new Advanced Learning Loan is government funding for tuition fees, for students aged 19 and over on courses at levels 3-6. This includes the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design.

The loans works in a similar way to the tuition fee loan for students on undergraduate degree courses. It is not means-tested and is only repaid after the end of the course when you are earning £21,000 per year or more.

Full details are to be released by government in late May 2016, after which time you can apply.

Loans can be for the full cost of the course fees, or a partial amount if you want to pay some of the costs upfront. The minimum loan amount is £300 and repayments won't start until the April after the end of the course (if earning over £21,000pa).
