Graduate Careers Help Falmouth Fly Up University Rankings

Falmouth University is one of the stand-out performers in the Guardian University Guide 2016.

Falmouth has climbed from 53 to 31 in the overall rankings, with our score for students in a career after six months higher than some of the other universities in the top 30.

Huge success in the subject rankings sees ush jump 97 places from 112th last year to 15th for business, management and marketing. Other significant rankings include 9th for design and crafts, 11th for fashion and textiles, 13th for art and 16th for film production and photography.

US Album Deal for Falmouth Graduates

Music alumni Chris and James Barrett have just signed to US indie label Lefse Records.

The cousins, who graduated from the BA(Hons) Popular Music course in 2013, have been playing music together in one capacity or another for the last five years, however it was only early last year that they decided to take things a bit more seriously and began to write as Something Anorak.

Fashion Photography Students get Industry Insight

BA(Hons) Fashion Photography students have been hearing from recent graduates and industry professionals in a series of symposiums aimed at getting them to consider their future career options.

Emma Hughes, Head of Fashion Photography, said: "This course saw its first cohort graduate last year so the symposiums have proven a great opportunity to invite some of them back to give our current students a better understanding of possible careers and next steps."

Students Put Falmouth in UK Top Five

Students have voted Falmouth University as one of the UK's top universities in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2015.

The awards, which took place on Thursday 23 April in London, are based entirely on reviews written by past and current students and saw Falmouth University named as fifth in the UK in the overall experience category.

The awards rate 113 universities across a number of categories including accommodation, societies, courses and lecturers, job prospects, student union, facilities and an overall rating, which counts towards the title of university of the year.

Three Top Spots for Falmouth in Major Student Survey

Students have ranked us first for campus environment, library services and student welfare in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey.

The survey, out today, looks at the best universities for student experience, ranking them on 21 key areas based on answers from students across the UK.

We came 11 out of 113 universities – up one place from last year. Alongside the top ranking for environment, library and welfare came second places for high-quality facilities and fair workload and joint third place for accommodation.
