  • Up close and personal at Trebah Gardens - an exhibition

    Ladybird by Carol ScarrVisitors to Trebah Gardens between 27 February and 20 March will be treated to an extreme "up close and personal" exhibition in a collaboration between first year students studying BA(Hons) Marine & Natural History Photography at University College Falmouth and the garden.

    The takeover of The Poly in Church Street, Falmouth starts with a free, private preview screening for University College Falmouth staff and students of Happy Christmas, the fourth feature film from Film lecturer Mark Jenkin, on Saturday 26 November 2011, from 7.30pm.

  • Film at University College Falmouth prominent at Cornwall Film Festival

    Cornwall Film FestivalOnce again, the talent of staff and students from the BA(Hons) Film course will feature heavily throughout The Cornwall Film Festival. The Festival takes place in Newquay's Lighthouse Cinema from 4 to 6 November 2011. UCF's involvement includes competition entries, production of the Festival trailer, screening of staff's work, sponsorship of two awards and the chairing of Q & A's.

Specialist media buildings housing television and radio studios; cinema; photography studios; darkrooms; labs; animation studios and digital post-production studios support our commitment to media specialisms.

Experienced academic and technical staff are strongly networked within the industry and our active links with leading regional and national media institutions including galleries, museums, broadcasters, publishers, production companies and film studios reflect our commitment to preparing students for sustainable professional careers. The Department of Media was one of the first institutions in the UK to be recognised as a Skillset Media Academy.
