Yes Sir Boss, the Bristol Based indie soul band which formed at Falmouth University in 2007, has recently released their newest single ‘Mrs No 1’ with artist Joss Stone.
The band, which is made up of graduates from BA(Hons) Music, has been described as ‘original, distinct and indefinable’, combining elements of blues with indie rock to create ‘funky, rootsy, uplifting tunes’. They were also the first band to be signed by Stone'd Records, Joss Stone's own record label.
Graduates Mark Sellors, Jehan Abdel-Malak, Josh Stopford and Tom First have been together since the band formed whilst studying their degrees.
Yes Sir Boss have had a busy year; a 40 date summer tour in 2012 including live sessions for BBC Radio London and Radio 1 paved the way for the launch of their album ‘Desperation State’, which was released in the UK in October.
The highlight of the album came with the release of their single ‘Mrs No 1’ featuring Joss Stone, which was released in the UK and Europe in January and has since then received over 50,000 hits on Youtube alone.
The band are touring the album throughout April and May, and can be seen at numerous venues across the South West and the rest of the UK.
