I have worked in publishing in the UK, US, France and India since 1986, editing, commissioning, developing ideas and concepts, list-building, and scouting new writing talent and book ideas. My specialist areas are parenting, folklore and spirituality, but I have edited and commissioned music, history, health, cookery and gardening books, with authors including BKS Iyengar, Mary Quant, Sonny Rollins, Penelope Leach, Sheila Kitzinger, Peter Ackroyd and Lord Robert Winston.

I work part-time as an editor, author and ghost-writer for Dorling Kindersley, Hachette France, Kyle Books, Quarto, Octopus, DBP/Watkins, Carroll and Brown, Sterling and YogaWords. I have also been involved with digital projects with Faber and Faber, Penguin and Curtis Brown.

I am author of 23 books - about babies, fairies, witches and yoga - which have been translated into 17 languages. My work has appeared in Weekend Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, Marie Claire, Top Sante, Spirit and Destiny, She, Junior, and I have broadcast on BBC Radio 4 (Something Understood with Mark Tully).

I have taught writing and mentored non-fiction writers in universities and online since 2006, and in 2008 helped to devise the world's first fully online masters in writing, here at Falmouth University.
