Academic interests/teaching themes

Linda is currently teaching Visual Studies, Illustrated Book and Colour & Composition within the first year, including media workshops. She runs tutorials with second and third year students within the context of Negotiated Studies/applied projects and has also taught Visual Communication and Conceptual Thinking. 

Research interests

During November 2011, Linda partcipated in The Ghosts of Gone Birds exhibition at The Rochelle Gallery in London. In April 2012 she travelled to Malta with a group of artists, musicians and professional birdwatchers headed by renowned documentary maker Ceri Levy, in response to the plight of endangered species of birds. She is currently creating a body of work in response to the experience.

Linda has more than 20 years experience working with a range of clients including Virgin Records, Abbey National, Safeway, Dickins & Jones, Cahoot Internet Bank, the Body Shop, The Guardian, The Independent, The Observer, You Magazine, Times Educational Supplement, Jamie Magazine (UK and Holland).

Recent outputs

In January 2012, Linda was commissioned to produce four illustrated maps for Illaichi, a World Buffet Restaurant in Hatfield. These were used on walls throughout the restaurant and individual elements selected for use on posters and menus. She has just completed another illustrated map for Jamie Magazine, Holland.

Selected earlier outputs

Article for Varoom Lab's 'Thought Bubbles' (2010) in response to an animation for the band Firekite's 'Autumn Story'. Participation in '24 HR Comic' at The Eden Project in 2011. Participation in 'A Book of The Night' printmaking event at The Exchange Gallery, Penzance, in which more than 20 artists and writers collaborated through the night to create two books, one digital, one analogue, which is held in the Gallery's archive. Exhibited at Mall Galleries, ICA, William Morris Museum and The Poetry Society, London.

Current projects/forthcoming outputs

A painting on the theme of 'Carousel' was exhibited earlier this year at Hall for Cornwall. Sponsors will be found for the exhibiting artists who will then paint designs onto life sized Carousel horses, which will be auctioned. This is a follow up to the highly successful Jack's Cows project in which Linda participated in 2009.
