The human body and its capability for expression/physical exploration through movement/dance has always facinated me. This fuelled my desire to become a professional contemporary dancer. I completed my training at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 1992. I was a founding member of CandoCo Dance Company, working with them over a seven-year period, during which time I assisted in the development of the education program, alongside touring extensively nationally and internationally. As a performer I have worked with choreographers and companies such as Emilyn Claid, Lloyd Newson (DV8), Siobhan Davies, Darshan Singh Bhuller (Singh Productions), Annabel Arden (Theatre de Complicite), Kwesi Johnson (Kompany Malakhi), RJC Dance Company, Fidget Feet Arial Dance/Theatre Company, Attik Dance and Company Pyke. Additionally, as a freelance artist I have worked as a Choreographer, Rehearsal Director, Choreographic Advisor and mentor.

Throughout my career I have been passionate about teaching and facilitating as a way to share my practice and engage with the development of others. In 2009 I returned to education and completed a BA(Hons) in Choreography at Dartington College of Arts. Since joining the dance and choreography team at Falmouth in 2010 I have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education at University and the Post Graduate Diploma. I have been fortunate in receiving a Teaching Excellence Award (2011) and the outstanding Teaching Award (2014). I completed the MA Creative Education in 2016.
