Following 15 years working in education, as an art teacher in London secondary schools, and as an Inner London Local Authority advisory teacher and study support consultant, Frances moved to Cornwall in 2011 to study for a Masters in Fine Art: Contemporary Pratice at Falmouth University.

After gaining a distinction and being named as joint winner of Falmouth University's 2013 Sandra Blow award, Frances has developed an artistic practice focused on digital video installation, with an active involvement in artist-led activity in Cornwall, primarily with CMR Gallery & Project Space in Redruth. Frances also has substantial experience working in museum and gallery education, formerly at Whitechapel Gallery and the Photographers' Gallery in London and more recently at Tate St Ives.

Now working for Falmouth University as a student recruitment coordinator within the newly-formed Global Student Recruitment Team, Frances contributes to the development and running of University outreach activities including taster days, summer schools and the National Saturday Art & Design Club programme, as well as attending events such as HE and Careers Fairs to offer advice and guidance to school and college staff, students and parents.
