Take your front row seats on 25 May for the hotly anticipated University College Falmouth Graduate Fashion Show 2011. The culmination of hard-work, collective and individual raw talent, and above all exceptional creativity will showcase the new and emerging future designers to hit the global market.
Over 30 stunning collections from BA(Hons) Fashion Design and BA(Hons) Performance Sportswear Design students take to the catwalk for the second year running demonstrating the cutting-edge and progressive nature of the course that aims to shape their successful launch into industry.
This year students have pushed the boundaries using the very latest in fabrics, experimental construction methods, laser-cutting, ultrasonic welding, tape seaming, digital printing, fabric bonding, digital technology, intricate hand-crafted bead work and LCD lighting. An array of contemporary collections inspired by history, the future, nature, Cornwall, work-wear, functionality and sheer indulgence are just some of the highlights of the show.
As well as the climatic final year collection, both level 1 & 2 students will also showcase their projects to include yoga-wear, swimwear, ski and snowboard wear. During this part of the show both levels demonstrate the importance of research, trend predications, forecasting, the global fashion industry as a whole, pattern cutting and styling.
There will be a series of awards given out at the end of the Show for students who have excelled in specialist areas of Fashion Design and Performance Sportswear Design.
