Photography Print Auction

6:00pm to 9:00pm, 11 March 2009

Woodlane Bar

Wednesday 11 March 6pm

The fundraising auction is run by final year students on the BA(Hons) Photography course. The aim is to raise enough money from the auction of the prints to enable them to hold their final year exhibition at Free Range in June. Freerange is a showcase of works of budding designers and artists to both public and potential employers and gives students the best opportunity for promotion.

Work has been donated by renowned photographers from around the world, and includes peices from Simon Roberts, who has donated a signed copy of his print of Lena River, Yakutsk, Sakha Republic, Brian Griffin, best known for his surreal portraits of businessmen taken for Management Today and Andrew Buurman, recipient of the World Press Award in 2003 who has donated a signed copy of an image from the series Serpentine Swimming Club.

In addition to the work donated by professional photographers, each student has donated prints for purchase at the auction.  The images are as diverse as the student body ranging between landscape, fine art, still life and portraits.  Prints are available for immediate purchase online and additional prints will be available on the night of the auction.

For those unable to attend the live auction in person all is not lost!  Bidding online for these rare pieces of photography is available by visiting www.falmouth.ac.uk/photographyprintauction

A unique addition this year is the facility to bid online on the night of the auction.  The website will be updated live as the bidding is taking place.  Please check out the website for more information.  You can also place a maximum bid or organize a telephone bid by emailing
