In his presentation, he will describe the context and opportunities for music and other creative content in the rapidly changing environment of the new digital economy and unpack potential new income streams and business models in the music industry. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

Jeremy Silver - Biography

Jeremy Silver is a digital media thought-leader who has focussed on the music industry for the last fifteen years. He is currently acting-CEO of the newly created Featured Artists Coalition. Previously he was CEO of Sibelius Software (a music notation software company) which he led for five years and sold to Avid Technology two years ago. He also became responsible for Avid's global education strategy across its audio and video divisions. Previously, Silver was VP of New Media for the EMI Music Group in London and Los Angeles. Silver went on to run the ground-breaking, playlist-sharing music service, Uplister Inc, based in San Francisco. Silver serves as Deputy Chairman of Futurelab - an education technology think tank chaired by Lord David Puttnam. Silver also provides advisory services to a variety of clients through his Mediaclarity company and has recently been advising on the UK technology strategy for the creative industries. Silver has presented talks and chaired panels on music and digital media at many conferences and seminars including Midem, Thinking Digital, and In The City. His blog appears at www.mediaclarity.com
