Anne Taylor

Senior Lecturer

Anne TaylorAnne Taylor has been a lecturer on the BA(Hons) Journalism course since October 2003. She teaches writing, editing and research skills to students on all levels of the course and continues to practise as a journalist.

During her career, Anne has contributed news and features to a broad range of regional and national newspapers, consumer and specialist magazines and websites. These include The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Daily Mail and women's magazines such as Best and Top Santé. She is also regularly commissioned to write website content for magazines and non-profit making organisations.

As news editor of General Practitioner (Haymarket Publishing), a weekly news magazine for family doctors, she ran a busy news desk and from there launched a career as a freelance health writer, winning a commendation in the Norwich Union Healthcare Medical Journalism Awards. She maintains a special interest in health and environmental journalisms.

Anne retains strong links within the media industry and arranges for guest speakers to make regular visits to the College.

Anne is currently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Sussex and is particularly interested in the field of creative non-fiction. She has developed a strong interest in education and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Plymouth.
