The application of cognitive poetics to arts and social media practices, with a particular focus on the role of performance metaphors within and across different forms of knowing.

Current research / forthcoming outputs

Extended Play: Creativity and Composition symposium June 2010 consisting of 5 round-table events featuring artists and academics addressing a set of key issues facing art and performance practice.  Topics include: Art & Social Context; Training for Sustainable Practice; Writing & Reading; and Unspeakable Practices.  Speakers attending include Tim Etchells, Katie Duck, Lone Twin, Chris Crickmay, David Williams, and Mike Pearson.  The symposium will be documented for web streaming and the proceedings will be published in a special edition of Performance Research Journal.
