Jim Lowe

Jim LoweJim Lowe has been a professional photographer for 37 years, during which time he has worked for the Ministry of Defence, Portsmouth Polytechnic, Westinghouse Brake and Signal and for the last 23 years has been in partnership with his wife running his studio J&S Professional Photography in Melksham near Bath.

Although now specialising in architectural photography he also undertakes assignments using close-up and macro photography using large format cameras. However the majority of his images are captured using digital technology but he is also well known for his Black and White landscapes for which he uses traditional film and hand printing them to exhibition quality. These have been sold in countries as far away as, Japan, USA and South Africa.

Jim has published a book on architectural photography and he has given seminars on his work throughout Europe including Moscow. Jim is a Past President and Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photography and was Chairman of the Institutes' Academy training Program for 8 years. He was awarded a Fellowship in by the Royal Photographic Society and was one of the first Professional Photographers to achieve the Federation of European Photographers, QEP distinction (Qualified European Photographer). He is currently Vice President of the FEP and for the last 6 years Jim has been Chairman of FEP qualifications panel.
