Nigel Kingcome

Programme Leader, English and Writing

Nigel KingcomeNigel Kingcome has been a lecturer in Higher Education for over 17 years, having taught for the Open University, Nottingham Trent University and since led the development of the English and Writing Programme at UCF. He studied at the University of the Creative Arts in Surrey, and completed his MPhil in Literary and Cultural Studies at Nottingham Trent University. He is currently working towards his Doctorate in Education.

A long standing member of the Media, Communications and Cultural Studies Association, Nigel has been a consultant and external examiner for the University for Wales Institute in Cardiff, University College Plymouth MARJON, and Southampton University. He has curated multimedia exhibitions in Europe, including the Boarders, boundaries and frontiers exhibitions in Genk, Belgium; and published in the International Journal of Heritage Studies. He was a keynote speaker at a cultural studies symposium on regional identities, helping ensure Objective One funding and regional development in Cornwall.
