David Losasso
Award Leader, Interior Design
David graduated with degree in Architecture from Plymouth
School of Architecture in 1984. Following his degree, David worked at the
design agency of Fitch & Co London, who sponsored his Masters Studies at
Master Domus Academy in Milan. On his return from Italy in 1987 he started his
own design agency in Soho, London and worked on projects all over the world.
Having run his own company for eighteen years a new challenge arose and David
took up the position of Design Director at the Eden Project in Cornwall for two
and half years, which preceded his move – a new challenge – to Falmouth to lecture
on the BA(Hons) Interior and BA(Hons) Spatial Design courses. David’s choice of career stems from his belief that
design covers so many aspects of life, if you immerse yourself in the subject
you never know where it will lead.
As well as an EEC scholarship to study in Milan, David and has won a number of awards for project based work. He continues to work with friends who run architectural and design practices, working as a consultant advising on initial ideas for project start ups and monitoring the progress – helping with client liaison issues and the process of delivering the projects. He is also still the director of his own company and keeps getting pestered to do things! Forthcoming projects include the new facilities building for the Pentewan Holiday Park in St. Austell.
In his spare time David enjoys mountaineering, skiing, sailing, and wind surfing.
