Nigel Owen

Programme Leader

Nigel Owen is a practising illustrator who specialises in editorial illustration for magazines such as Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Homes & Gardens, Ideal Homes, Design Week and the New Scientist; and for newspapers such as the Express, the Telegraph and the Independent. He also produces illustrations for book jackets for imprints such as Penguin, Macmillan, Vintage, Cape, Longman and Transworld’s Black Swan.

With a wealth of experience in illustration for packaging, Nigel’s clients have included Asda, Waitrose, Hasbrow (for the game of Monopoly) and Crate & Barrel in the US. He has also produced illustrations for advertisements, for Saatchi, British Telecom and Condé Naste.

Nigel also exhibits his work widely in both solo and group contexts, and was recently awarded a Silver in the Association of Illustrators’ Images exhibition at the Royal College of Art.

His current research relates to the impact of digital technologies on narrative illustration.
