Alan Williamson Alan's background is rooted in art, music, film, and design. He lived in the USA for ten years, where he made his first independent production. Shot on 16mm film, the production was an interpretation of Euripides' play ‘Bacchus'. The film gained him a residency at the School of Art and Drama NY. There was where he began his teaching career, qualifying as a teacher of Art & Design and gaining an ESL (English as Second Language) Teacher Certification.

Upon his return to the UK, Alan founded Foxton Press. In his studio in Leicestershire he specialized in producing handmade prints. Al also has worked for BBC television on productions including The Onedin Line, Old Man at the Zoo, Bojest, and Animal Magic. In 1998 Alan formed Emedia Europe Ltd. where, as Managing Director, he steered the business for four years, specialized in creating interactive CD-ROMs, web sites, learning applications, and designing/producing audio-visual installations for museums and public spaces.

Alan's client list has included: PriceWaterhouseCoopers, IBM, Dera, Honeywell, MGM, Disney, BBC, ITV, Warner Bros, Marshell Cavendish, and more.

Although Alan now specializes in interactive media he also has a solid track record of designing for the corporate world, the financial sector, for print, display, point of sale, museums, the Internet, television, and film. He has also been commissioned for the designing and building of exhibitions at Earl's Court and the National Exhibition Centre.

Alan's lecturing now focuses on interactive design and rich media.
He also taught on BA(Hons) Photography and occasionally for MA Illustration: Authorial Practice. He continues to develop his own artwork, plays music, and constantly explores the potential of digital media and interactivity.

Alan has also studied science and holds a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science (gained from MediaLab Arts), along with a degree in Fine Art, plus a Masters degree in Interactive Art & Design. In 2008 Alan was made a fellow of the Royal Society of Artists.
