Dr Andrew UptonDr Andrew Upton is the Pro Rector (Learning & Teaching) of University College Falmouth. He is part of the senior management team with responsibility for learning and teaching, academic development and planning, marketing, external affairs, partnerships, student recruitment, widening participation and access, and equality and diversity.

Andrew trained as a biologist, with a first degree and PhD from the University of Essex and also has an MBA, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Biologist. After an initial period of academic research in environmental microbiology Andrew worked as an environmental consultant in industry, before returning to higher education. Andrew developed his career through lecturing, prior to moving into academic management, and joined University College Falmouth in 2008.
