In his notebook Peter has written
" I developed these Paintings from physical, 3D and conceptual models. These are similar to how a sculptor makes a maquette, or how a scientist might make a molecular model, in order to anticipate or replicate reality.

These models enable me to generate a set of elements in the Paintings (forms, shapes, edges, spaces, colours, lines, surfaces etc) referring both to real things in the world and the ways in which they can be represented within the formality of Painting.

The dialogues between these different conventions become the language of the work.

In this way I can evoke real things within the condition of Abstract Painting."
