Misri Dey - An extract from 'Taj A Chino Blues'

My current research specialism involves investigating solo devised performance, through a variety of modes. These have included making solo work nationally and internationally, an in depth series of interviews with highly experienced national and international solo devisor/performers, writing these materials up into two books and a PhD entitled Solo Devised Performance: a practitioner's enquiry. I also founded and co-ordinated the Solo Performance Forum at Dartington College of Arts 2004 - 2008, in which I organized a series of intensive making laboratories and a premiere of three new solo works in 2006. This is currently being revisioned, to launch again late next year as a Centre for Solo Performance, with laboratory, symposium and performance platforms.
