In this showcase, a selection of new pieces for string quartet will be presented, alongside a short film; ‘The Peace That Surpasses All Understanding’, directed by Hattie Allen.
The film follows the experiences of a Falmouth student in finding peace at university, and the music, predominantly for organ, complements the shots of natural scenery.
The music for string quartet responds to local landscapes and wildlife, and varies in style. At times gentle, and at times hard-edged and contemporary.
