Photography students win prizes

Torquil Bennett from BA(Hons) Photography has won 2nd Prize in the Ilford Photo Student of the Year competition. His prize includes £350 plus Ilford Photo materials to the value of £250 for him and to the value of £500 for the College.

Recent BA(Hons) Photography graduate, Toby Millinder, has won the British Institute of Professional Photographers’ (BIPP) Tom Gowar Memorial Prize.

The BIPP is the premier qualifying body for professional image makers in the UK with over 3500 members covering every type of photography.

Toby was presented with this prestigious student award and a prize of £750, which he plans to put towards a visit to China later this year to work on a new and challenging photographic project.

University College Falmouth is a founding partner in the Combined Universities in Cornwall, a unique initiative to promote regional economic regeneration through higher education. The CUC is funded mainly by the European Union (Objective One), the South West Regional Development Agency, and the Higher Education Funding Council for England, with support from Cornwall County Council.
