Creative Advertising students celebrate Best New Blood Award wins

Two postgraduate Creative Advertising student teams were celebrating after they scooped coveted ‘Best New Blood’ Awards at the 2007 D&AD Student Awards Show.

This annual event allows each participating student or team to exhibit a folio of work which is put out on stands for visitors to look through. The judges’ awards denote the best folios and/or individual campaigns in the exhibition. Two of the four Best New Blood awards in the Advertising category went to Falmouth’s Creative Advertising students. Approximately 60 universities from 20 countries took part in the exhibition.

Tom Green & Laurence Colling's winning Tic Tac campaign

Victoria Jagger & Jordan De Carli won an award for their folio, which included a humorous Wotsits ‘Cheesier than Cheese’ snack food campaign. Tom Green & Laurence Collings also won a folio award; their featured work was an eye-catching Tic Tac campaign with the tag-line ‘Start A Fresh Conversation’.

“It goes without saying that this is a great result”, says Creative Advertising Course Leader Chris Waite. “Especially as this year there were more entries from more colleges worldwide than ever before!”

Best New Blood winners get automatically included in the D&AD Talent Pool, a page on the D&AD website which is the first port of call for any Creative Director looking for the year's best graduates. So as well as being an honour, it's a short cut to several rungs up the ladder towards folio crits, placements and ultimately employment.
