Felipe & Lambros: Creative Advertising MA graduates

MA Creative Advertising - 2009-2010

Felipe & LambrosWe came to the course as a marketing graduate and a failed accountant. We left as a fully-fledged art director and copywriter team.

Felipe and I first teamed up in the second half of the course completing two D&AD briefs for MINI and Metro newspaper. We had wanted to work together for some time and fortunately things just clicked straight away.

Having produced work we were both really proud of, it was a no-brainer to carry on working together for our final portfolio. It was in this period that we truly begun to appreciate all that we had learnt on the course. Both my writing and Felipe's art direction began to improve greatly as we immersed ourselves in everything we were advised to read and watch, as well as through carefully planned sessions from our tutors.

On leaving the course with distinctions we were conscious of keeping our momentum going and continued to work on our book throughout the summer. We managed to secure a three-month placement at BBH, shortly followed by winning ‘Cream'.

During our placement, we got to work on a TV brief for Axe/Lynx, press and poster campaigns for British Airways and Vodafone, as well as a pitch - which was to prove the deciding factor in us getting hired in December. Since January we have helped win pitches for Weetabix, Google Voice Search and have recently finished working on another. Currently we are busy producing our digital idea for Weetabix, a Facebook application for Axe, TV scripts for Surf and Vigorsol chewing gum, as well as some work for ASOS.

It's been an incredibly steep learning curve, but never does a day gone by when we don't look forward to coming into work. We owe a great deal to the course, and the incredible tutorage from Chris, Rob, Alice, Tom and Carolyn. Without them I'm sure we would not have got here this quickly.
