During my time at University College Falmouth I feel I have experienced a huge amount in such a short space of time. I have lived in Falmouth all my life and chose to study here because of the brilliant opportunity that literally arrived on my doorstep! For me it was great to see such developments in my little town of Falmouth and I really wanted to be a part of it.
In the (almost three) years I have been studying here I have learnt a huge amount, not just about the course content but also about myself. The one thing that is especially rewarding is the way in which the course encourages you to broaden your ability and knowledge. Having been introduced to such a varied learning style I feel I have gained the confidence to transfer these skills to my future. Through doing a vast amount of presentations and getting involved in seminar discussions I have gained great confidence in communicating to and with a group. Although at first I found the whole idea a bit daunting, over the course of the degree I have found the learning experience to be extremely valuable.
Another thing I would have to praise this particular degree for is the teaching input. What has struck me most is the passion and devotion the lecturers have for their subjects, and how they genuinely enjoy what they are doing, which of course makes the learning experience more enjoyable for the student too!!! My experience with the tutoring aspect of the degree has been a brilliant one, all the tutors have been particularly considerate and helpful, and are quite literally always at hand when you need them!
I have recently been involved in the degree's Periodic Review, where I had the opprtunity to be part of the panel discussing ways of improving the degree. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, feel privilleged to have played a part in such an important event and honestly believe that the degree is headed for a great future. I would strongly recommend studying at University College Falmouth, and more importantly the English with Media Studies degree. I have really enjoyed my time here and I know that I can take my whole experience with me when I leave.
